Job Summary:
Al Sahraa Recruitment Services is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Planning Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining detailed project plans and schedules for complex engineering projects. This role requires strong analytical skills, in-depth knowledge of project management methodologies, and the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Planning and Scheduling:
    Develop and manage comprehensive project plans and schedules using industry-standard software (e.g., Primavera P6, Microsoft Project).
    Define project scope, deliverables, milestones, and timelines in collaboration with project stakeholders and team members.
    Resource Management:
    Coordinate and allocate resources efficiently, including personnel, equipment, and materials, to meet project objectives and deadlines.
    Monitor resource utilization and adjust plans as necessary to address any discrepancies or shortages.
    Performance Monitoring:
    Track and report on project progress, identifying and analyzing deviations from the plan.
    Implement corrective actions to address any issues and ensure adherence to project schedules and budgets.
    Risk Management:
    Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize their impact on project timelines and outcomes.
    Proactively address and resolve scheduling conflicts and project delays.
    Reporting and Communication:
    Prepare and present detailed progress reports, including schedule updates, performance metrics, and forecasts.
    Communicate effectively with project teams, stakeholders, and management to ensure alignment and address any project concerns.
    Documentation and Compliance:
    Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including schedules, change orders, and progress reports.
    Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, industry standards, and company policies.
    Continuous Improvement:
    Evaluate and enhance planning processes and methodologies to improve project efficiency and effectiveness.
    Mentor and support junior planning engineers, providing guidance and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (Masters degree preferred).

Experience:

Minimum of 15 years of experience in project planning and scheduling, preferably in engineering or construction projects.

Proven experience with planning software (e.g., Primavera P6, Microsoft Project) and advanced scheduling techniques.

Certifications:

Professional certification in project management (e.g., Project Management Professional (PMP), Planning and Scheduling Professional (PSP)) is preferred.

Technical Skills:

Strong understanding of project management principles, construction processes, and engineering practices.

Proficiency in planning and scheduling software and tools.

Analytical Skills:

Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to address complex issues and make informed decisions.

Ability to interpret and analyze complex data and project information.
