Workshop Supervisor
Job Description:
1. JOB PURPOSE:
Supervise and perform the workshop maintenance activities and refurbishment of PSVs, isolation valves,
control valves, machining activities, rotor balancing and repair work on static as well as on rotating equipment
parts, to ensure equipment availability, reliability and integrity.
2. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Maintenance Planning and execution
Ensure availability of required resources for workshop maintenance execution and schedule
expectations to complete the job safely and in time.
Supervise the maintenance and repair of a wide range of static equipment and machinery parts and
equipment in the Workshop to ensure reliability and availability.
Inspect / follow up tasks progress and final completion, and provide report to ensure timely and quality
job execution.
Allocate tasks to staff to ensure optimum utilization of the workshop facility and manpower
Provide technical support, prepare scope of work, contracts, cost reporting and participate in
negotiation for equipment repair to meet required standards and cost effectiveness.
Update refurbished equipment database and history for the equipment and their accessories to
ensure effective equipment keeping.
Participate and conduct daily /weekly safety toolbox talks to discuss on safety and methods of
completing job tasks.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Plan the resources and material in CMMMS system and prepare 6 weekly rolling plans. Ensuring to
update the failure reporting prior to closing of work orders.
Supervise the testing and commissioning of new or modified equipment or systems, ensuring that
repairs conform to correct methods and safety procedures.
Prepare Preventive Maintenance Plans of workshop machines/equipment and execution.
Participate in the planning, scheduling and execution of shutdown and major overhaul maintenance
activities.
Materials Control
Monitor availability of needed tools, equipment, and parts for scheduled jobs to ensure smooth
operations.
Prepare list of spares, tools and materials required for the maintenance jobs and issue the
Purchase/Material requisitions, prepare the technical evaluation for the procurement of tools/
machines. Inspect and confirm that the specifications are in line with the requirement of the received
'direct charge' and 'stock Materials'. Raise MCADs for any non-catalogued item.
In case of urgent requirement, arrange the material from the local suppliers, arrange the
transportation of materials to site and coordinate with workshop rigging supervisor on the use of
heavy equipment, rigging services.
Supervision
Plan, supervise and coordinate all activities in the assigned area to meet functional objectives.
Train and develop the assigned staff on relevant skills to enable them to become proficient on the job
and deliver the respective functional objectives.
Budgets
Provide input for preparation of the Section / Team / Department budgets and assist in the
implementation of the approved Budget and work plans to deliver functional objectives.
Investigate and highlight any significant variances to support effective performance and cost control.

Implement approved Section / Team / Department policies, processes, systems, standards and
procedures in order to support execution of the work programs in line with Company and International
standards.
Comply with all applicable legislation and legal regulations.

Contribute to the achievement of the approved Performance Objectives for the Section / Team /
Department in line with the Company Performance framework.
Innovation and Continuous Improvement
Design and implement new tools and techniques to improve the quality and efficiency of operational
processes.
Identify improvements in internal processes against best practices in pursuit of greater efficiency in
line with best Industry standards in order to define intelligent solutions for issues confronting the
function.
Health, Safety, Environment (HSE) and Sustainability
Comply with relevant HSE policies, procedures & controls and applicable legislation and sustainability
guidelines in line with international standards, best practices and ADNOC Code of Practices.
Participate in Emergency Response duties as a team member.
Reports
Provide inputs to prepare MIS and progress reports for Company Management.

3. COMMUNICATIONS & WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:
Internal
Regular work related contact with concerned Section / Team Leader and Department Manager as
required, peer Professional staff and team members on matters related to Team / Section Policies
and Processes, People, HSE and domain specific issues.
Frequent contact with various Area Operations and Area Maintenance Teams.
External
Occasional contact with local and international vendors and third party service providers to establish
relationships or to obtain supply of goods and services.
4. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
Minimum Qualification
Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification.
Minimum Experience & Knowledge & Skills
5 years of experience as a supervisory role for in workshop, maintenance of static equipment and field
maintenance experience in a diversified oil and gas processing environment within a large
organization.
Proven Mechanical/Electrical skills with expertise in plant equipment workshop operations.
Good knowledge on Static and Rotating equipment overhauls and periodic inspections.
Comprehensive methodical knowledge in equipment's repairs and maintenance.
Must be able to work efficiently with Engineering, Operations, Maintenance Support, Materials
Management, contractors, Environmental, Safety and other groups within the plant organization.
Knowledge of HSE procedures & practices.
Must be able to work on CMMMS available in the company.
