AOG Call-Out Support for Private Jet

Contract Type: Independent contractor
Engagement: Ad hoc, on-demand AOG support

Start: Immediate upon acceptance

Role Overview

We are seeking a certified aircraft maintenance engineer to provide rapid on-site AOG support for a private jet that has been grounded due to a technical issue. This is a time-critical call-out requiring hands-on fault diagnosis, rectification, and return-to-service where possible.

The role is suited to engineers experienced in business aviation who are comfortable working independently, communicating clearly with operators, and operating under operational time pressure.

Typical Call-Out Issues

The scope of work may include, but is not limited to:

  • Tyre or wheel replacement, inspection, or pressure rectification

  • Brake inspections, wear checks, overheat indications, or component replacement

  • Hydraulic leaks, low pressure faults, or fluid replenishment

  • Avionics or sensor faults causing CAS or warning messages

  • Electrical or battery issues identified during aircraft power-up

  • Minor but grounding faults affecting dispatch reliability

Exact fault details will be shared prior to mobilisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Attend the aircraft location as quickly as possible once confirmed

  • Carry out fault diagnosis in accordance with OEM and regulatory procedures

  • Rectify the defect if possible using available parts or approved alternatives

  • Advise the operator immediately if parts, tooling, or additional support are required

  • Complete all required maintenance documentation accurately

  • Certify return to service where authorised to do so

  • Communicate clearly with the operator throughout the call-out

Required Qualifications

  • Valid aircraft maintenance licence appropriate to aircraft type

  • Current type rating or recent experience on business jets preferred

  • Right to certify work performed, where applicable

  • Valid ID and airport access credentials as required

  • Ability to work independently without direct supervision

Experience

  • Proven experience in AOG support within business or private aviation

  • Strong fault-finding capability under time pressure

  • Familiarity with MEL, dispatch considerations, and operator expectations

  • Comfortable working in non-base locations

Tools and Parts

  • Engineer to advise in advance what tools or consumables are required

  • Operator will support sourcing of parts if not locally available

  • Clear communication expected before travel if parts availability may delay resolution

Commercials

  • Call-out rate and hourly rate to be agreed in advance

  • Travel time, accommodation, and expenses covered where applicable

  • Payment terms agreed prior to mobilisation
