ServiceNow Architect (CMDB, ITSM, ITOM)

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced ServiceNow CMDB Architect to lead a comprehensive assessment of the existing CMDB environment, identify architecture, data quality, governance, and licensing gaps, and define a clear remediation roadmap aligned with ServiceNow best practices and CSDM.

Location - USA, Netherlands, Romania, Poland (remote)

Key Responsibilities

• Perform an end-to-end CMDB assessment covering:
  • CI classes and relationships
  • Data quality and CMDB Health
  • Identification and Reconciliation Engine (IRE)
  • Data sources and integrations
  • Duplicate, stale, orphaned, and incorrectly classified CIs
  • CSDM alignment
  • Ownership and governance
• Assess Discovery, Service Graph Connectors, and other CMDB data sources.
• Review ServiceNow license usage and license management approach, identifying optimization opportunities and gaps.
• Perform persona and role mapping to understand how different user groups interact with CMDB-related capabilities and ensure appropriate access and responsibilities.
• Identify risks and gaps affecting downstream capabilities such as ITSM, ITOM, SecOps / USEM, HAM, and SAM.
• Define a prioritized CMDB remediation backlog and roadmap.
• Provide target-state architecture, governance, licensing, and operating model recommendations.

Requirements

• Strong ServiceNow CMDB and CSDM expertise.
• Hands-on experience with IRE, CMDB Health, Discovery, and Service Graph Connectors.
• Experience conducting enterprise-scale CMDB assessments and remediation initiatives.
• Strong understanding of CI lifecycle, relationships, reconciliation, and data governance.
• Understanding of ServiceNow licensing, user roles, personas, and access models.
• Ability to translate technical findings into clear risks, recommendations, and implementation priorities.
