About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Windows Desktop Test Engineer with strong German language skills to join our client healthcare technology team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality, reliability, and compliance of Windows desktop applications used by healthcare professionals and organizations. You will work closely with developers, product managers, and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality software solutions that support critical healthcare operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and execute manual and automated test cases for Windows desktop applications.
  • Analyze business and technical requirements to create comprehensive test plans and test scenarios.
  • Perform functional, regression, integration, system, and user acceptance testing.
  • Identify, document, track, and verify software defects using defect management tools.
  • Collaborate with development teams to troubleshoot issues and ensure timely resolution.
  • Validate software compliance with healthcare industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in sprint planning, reviews, and other Agile development activities.
  • Prepare and maintain test documentation, reports, and quality metrics.
  • Communicate testing results and project status to stakeholders in both German and English.

Required Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Software Test Engineer, QA Engineer, or similar role.
  • Strong experience testing Windows desktop applications.
  • Fluent German language skills (minimum B2/C1 level) and good English communication skills.
  • Experience with test management and defect tracking tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps, TestRail).
  • Solid understanding of software testing methodologies and QA best practices.
  • Experience creating and executing detailed test cases and test plans.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development environments.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote, international team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the healthcare, medical device, pharmaceutical, or health technology sector.
  • Knowledge of healthcare standards, regulations, or compliance requirements.
  • Experience with test automation tools and frameworks.
  • Understanding of client-server architectures and desktop application deployment processes.
  • ISTQB certification or equivalent QA certification.
