Our client is one of the largest industrial and retail groups in Ukraine, a leading national retailer with over 700 stores across the country, as well as active investments in food production, banking, and restaurant businesses.

As part of an exciting new project the launch of a German-style pub in Kyiv we are seeking a Restaurant Manager with Head Chef responsibilities, capable of leading the kitchen team, shaping the concept, and delivering a standout culinary and customer experience.

Position Overview

  • Job Title: Restaurant Manager & Head Chef

  • Location: Kyiv, Ukraine

  • Department: Restaurant Division

  • Reports To: Head of Restaurant Office

  • Subordinates: Yes

  • Employment Type: Full-time

  • Start Date: negotiable 

  • Probation Period: 2 months (at 85% salary)

  • Relocation Support: Provided

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and develop the concept and menu of the German pub

  • Participate in entertainment and training events organized by the holding

  • Conduct competitor analysis and respond to market trends

  • Regularly update the menu in line with the restaurant's concept

  • Develop new dishes, seasonal offers, and special menus

  • Organize and manage all kitchen processes

  • Ensure meals are prepared according to tech cards and recipe standards

  • Monitor product quality and final dishes

  • Lead the kitchen team: assign tasks, provide training, and motivate staff

  • Manage inventory: place orders, control product quality, and handle stock counts

  • Control expenses and optimize the use of resources

  • Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene standards, including HACCP regulations

Candidate Requirements

  • Education: Higher education in management, hospitality, or a related field
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years as Head Chef in a German-style restaurant (preferably beer-focused)

Professional Skills

  • Ability to develop signature dishes and refresh the menu regularly

  • Knowledge of modern culinary techniques and food trends

  • Understanding of food safety standards and hygiene regulations

  • Team leadership, delegation, and motivation

  • Strong crisis management and time-management skills

  • Confident user of PC and office tools (MS Office, Google Docs, Excel, Email)

  • Language proficiency: Ukrainian or Russian (mandatory), English (advantage)

Compensation Package

  • Monthly Salary: Negotiable, based on experience

  • Probation Salary: 85% of the base salary for the first 2 months

  • Bonuses: To be discussed
