About the job Platform Architect – Observability

For our client, we are looking for an experienced Platform Architect – Observability to define and shape the technical foundation of a Full Stack Observability platform.

In this role, you will drive end-to-end observability across a complex and highly integrated IT landscape, helping improve application performance, reliability, and customer experience. You will design and implement observability solutions that enable proactive detection and prevention of performance issues, faster troubleshooting, and reduced mean time to repair (MTTR).

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive cross-functional alignment on observability architecture and key technical decisions.
  • Evaluate and select the most appropriate observability technologies and solutions, considering integration, customization, scalability, and long-term maintenance.
  • Design and define an enterprise-wide Full Stack Observability framework, providing unified visibility across applications, infrastructure, cloud, networks, processes, and user experience.
  • Lead the design and implementation of observability solutions in collaboration with Product Managers, Architects, technology partners, and business stakeholders.
  • Define key observability metrics, actionable alerts, and dashboards to monitor system health, performance, and anomalies.
  • Identify critical business transactions and design appropriate end-to-end monitoring solutions.
  • Analyze critical incidents and performance trends, providing diagnostic insights and proactive recommendations, including out-of-hours support when required.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, architecture standards, monitoring frameworks, and observability roadmaps.
  • Improve resource utilization, system reliability, and operational efficiency through effective monitoring and analysis.
  • Take end-to-end ownership of observability tooling, including implementation, maintenance, upgrades, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure observability practices are aligned with DevSecOps principles, identifying opportunities for automation and process optimization.
  • Support and educate Product Teams and external partners on observability best practices and effective use of the platform.

Expertise in Observability Platform (Dynatrace):

  • Implement monitoring solutions for various use cases (incl. SAP), including agent installations, middleware configurations, dashboards, alerts, OpenPipeline, DQL.
  • Strong knowledge of Dynatrace SaaS architectural elements and network communication flows for components such as Oneagent, ActiveGates, custom Extensions, OA Command line interface.
  • Engineer the platform for advanced configuration and standardization, including data buckets, custom metrics, tag rules, policies, and access management.
  • Integrate Dynatrace with enterprise processes (e.g., ServiceNow ITSM and CMDB, event management, CI/CD pipelines).
  • Align SLA-driven monitoring and reporting based on onboarded applications with SREs.
  • Serve as a key stakeholder for gathering, analyzing, and translating observability requirements across teams, presenting insights effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Qualifications requariments:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience administering observability platforms (APM, Infrastructure and Network Monitoring, Real User Experience) such as Dynatrace, Splunk, DataDog, New Relic, etc.
  • Experience with SAP (4HANA, ERP, BW) and PowerConnect monitoring is a plus.
  • Experience with ServiceNow is an advantage.
  • Deep understanding of Full Stack Observability concepts and emerging trends.
  • Strong knowledge of IT landscape technologies and integrations, including:
  • API and middleware integrations
  • Mobile and web application architectures
  • Cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud)
  • Operating systems (Windows, Linux)
  • Databases, storage, and virtualization
  • Network protocols and SSL certificates
  • Ability to work in SAFe Agile and DevSecOps environments.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
  • Fluent in English (written and verbal).
