About the job Product Owner – Mobile Application

About the Role

For our client, we are looking for an experienced Product Owner to take ownership of the development and continuous improvement of a customer-facing mobile application.

You will work closely with business stakeholders, UX/UI designers, developers, QA engineers, and other product and technology teams to translate business and customer needs into clear product priorities and deliver high-quality mobile experiences.

The ideal candidate combines a strong product mindset, understanding of mobile application development, excellent stakeholder management skills, and the ability to turn complex requirements into actionable work for an Agile development team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and continuously prioritize the mobile application product backlog.
  • Define product requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and priorities for the development team.
  • Translate business objectives and customer needs into clear product requirements.
  • Work closely with developers, QA engineers, UX/UI designers, architects, and other stakeholders throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Participate in product discovery and help identify opportunities to improve the mobile customer experience.
  • Define and communicate product goals, priorities, and expected outcomes.
  • Plan and prioritize new features, improvements, technical initiatives, and bug fixes.
  • Lead backlog refinement and actively participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Ensure development teams have clear requirements and understand the business value behind each initiative.
  • Coordinate dependencies with other products, systems, APIs, and internal teams.
  • Gather and analyze feedback from customers, business stakeholders, and development teams.
  • Use product data, customer insights, and business requirements to support prioritization decisions.
  • Monitor delivered functionality and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Support mobile application releases and coordinate readiness across relevant stakeholders.
  • Ensure product requirements consider security, privacy, regulatory, and technical requirements where applicable.
  • Maintain clear product documentation and communicate progress, priorities, risks, and dependencies to stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Product Owner, Product Manager, or similar product role.
  • Hands-on experience working with mobile applications (iOS and/or Android).
  • Good understanding of the mobile application development lifecycle.
  • Experience managing and prioritizing a product backlog.
  • Strong knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Experience creating user stories, acceptance criteria, and functional requirements.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into clear tasks and priorities for technical teams.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Experience collaborating with software developers, QA engineers, UX/UI designers, and business teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to balance customer needs, business priorities, technical constraints, and delivery timelines.
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic environment with changing priorities.
  • Professional working proficiency in English.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with large-scale or high-traffic consumer mobile applications.
  • Understanding of REST APIs, backend integrations, authentication, and mobile application architecture.
  • Experience working with analytics and product performance metrics.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Jira, Confluence, Figma, or similar platforms.
  • Experience with mobile application release processes through the Apple App Store and Google Play.
  • Understanding of mobile UX/UI principles and accessibility.
  • Experience working in regulated or security-sensitive industries.
  • Experience collaborating with distributed or international development teams.

What We Value

We are looking for someone who takes ownership rather than simply managing a backlog. You should be comfortable asking questions, challenging assumptions, making prioritization decisions, and bringing business and technical teams together around common goals.

You should have a strong customer mindset and be interested in understanding not only what needs to be built, but also why it matters and how its success should be measured.

What You Can Expect

  • Ownership of an important customer-facing mobile product.
  • Close collaboration with experienced technology and business professionals.
  • Opportunity to influence product priorities and customer experience.
  • An Agile environment focused on continuous improvement and high-quality delivery.
  • Work on meaningful mobile features used by real customers.
  • Opportunities to contribute to both short-term delivery and longer-term product development.

If you have experience building and improving mobile products and enjoy connecting customer needs, business objectives, and technology, we would be happy to hear from you.
