Job Summary:

Our Client, a well-established Foreign Bank in Malaysia is seeking a person skilled and experienced in organisational planning, methods and transformation to join their dynamic division. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting management in carrying out various initiatives such as transformation, transversal projects and monitoring, outsourcing, and operational control for the various businesses of the bank.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Management

  • Oversee and manage Malaysia transformation projects across Business, IT, Operations, Finance, and Regulatory initiatives.
  • Provide comprehensive project updates to management, highlighting progress, risks, and timelines.
  • Ensure all projects comply with BNPP policies, are well-qualified, documented, and on track for timely delivery.
  • Closely monitor Trade and Cash Management projects, including regulatory requirements and new products.
  • Act as Project Leader or Coordinator for major projects in Malaysia.
  • Coordinate with regulators on Trade and Cash Management projects and enhancements.

Supporting Management on Transformation Initiatives

  • Prepare analyses and presentations on strategic topics for the CEO and COO.
  • Ensure alignment between strategy, project portfolios, dashboards, and communications for Malaysia CIB entities.
  • Promote and support the transition to new ways of working within teams.

Outsourcing Management

  • Manage and monitor outsourcing arrangements for the bank.
  • Maintain outsourcing dashboards, registers, and ensure control over outsourcing activities.
  • Oversee projects from initiation to execution and review SLAs.
  • Serve as the SLA coordinator for the bank.

Continuous Organisational & Business Improvement

  • Monitor industry trends and regulatory updates, integrating them into bank processes.
  • Analyze and challenge current practices to redesign workflows for efficiency and better operational risk management.
  • Act as project coordinator for implementing new processes.
  • Solve operational issues and ensure smooth operations.
  • Contribute to monitoring and controlling systems to minimize operational, fraud, and AML risks.
  • Drive change by implementing quality processes and improvement programs.

Operational Control and Transversal Initiatives

  • Contribute to operational permanent control framework.
  • Participate in risk and control assessment exercises, ensuring accurate inputs from regional and offshore teams.
  • Adapt regional OPC frameworks to local needs and support risk assessments, particularly regulatory requirements.
  • Lead projects related to outsourcing, ensuring proper control setup and execution.
  • Alert Business, Operations, and IT teams of unidentified operational risks.
  • Follow up on regulatory or audit recommendations and ensure timely responses to external requests.


Qualifications & Skills:

  • 10+ years of total work experience, with at least 8 years in Project Management, Transformation Management, and Process & Organization Consulting.
  • At least 5 years of experience in the banking and FI, either directly or via management consulting firms.
  • Expertise in leading projects focused on business improvement, process efficiency, organizational efficiency, offshoring, and regulatory compliance.
  • Hands-on experience in risk and control functions, such as OPC, Risk, and Compliance BAU activities.
  • Ability to handle operational details while creating a strategic view for senior management.
  • Skilled in deep-dive analysis, problem-solving, process/organization re-engineering, and target operating model design.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and influencing skills (oral and written).
  • Experienced in working with multicultural, cross-border teams (local, regional, and offshore).
