Risk Specialist

Our Client, a well-established Foreign Bank in Malaysia is seeking a person skilled and experienced in Risk Management to join their dynamic Risk division. The successful candidate will support the CRO to ensure Risk Governance Guidelines, risk management best practice and regulatory requirements are carried out across the organisation

Key Responsibilities:

• Risk Assessment and Monitoring
  • Conduct risk-related exercises, including identifying, measuring, and monitoring key organizational risks.
  • Maintain productive relationships with business units and stakeholders while adhering to organizational risk assessment standards.
• Risk Reporting
  • Prepare and deliver risk-related reports for management and board committees (e.g., Executive Risk Committee, Board Risk Management Committee, Board of Directors).
  • Coordinate with regional risk teams and local stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
• Data Collection and Stress Testing
  • Gather and analyze data from stakeholders, publications, and websites to support stress testing and ICAAP requirements.
• Risk Reviews and Frameworks
  • Conduct risk reviews, including permanent control frameworks and independent credit reviews, as needed by the bank.
• Policy Management
  • Ensure local risk policies and procedures are current and aligned with group or regulatory requirements.
  • Undertake research to develop or update policies and procedures when required.
• Regulatory and External Liaison
  • Respond promptly to information requests from regulators, rating agencies, and auditors/consultants.
  • Collaborate closely with the Compliance Department and inform the CRO before sharing information externally.
• Risk Projects and Initiatives
  • Lead and drive risk-related initiatives and projects.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Tertiary education in a related field.
• At least 5 years or more experience in risk management functions.
• Proficient in identifying, analyzing, and measuring risks, and conducting risk/benefit analyses.
• Ability to critically assess subjects, extract key aspects, and develop effective solutions.
