We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced HR professional to take on a leadership role within a prominent multinational company in Malaysia. This position will play a crucial part in driving HR operations and initiatives across multiple Southeast Asian countries. As a key member of the team, you will partner with senior stakeholders, business leaders, and local HR teams to ensure effective people management practices that align with business goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage HR operations within the Malaysia office, overseeing day-to-day HR functions, ensuring compliance with local regulations, and implementing HR policies and procedures.
- Provide strategic HR advisory to business leaders on a wide range of people-related issues across the employee lifecycle, including recruitment, performance management, and employee relations.
- Work closely with business leaders, HR partners, and key stakeholders to drive the delivery of HR services, while ensuring the execution of HR projects and initiatives.
- Take ownership of HR governance, ensuring compliance with all local regulatory requirements, and lead the implementation of mandatory HR processes.
- Develop and deliver HR reports and analytics, leveraging central HR tools and reporting systems to provide insights that support business decision-making.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and proactively drive continuous enhancements in HR practices.
- Coordinate with subject matter experts and ensure that required follow-up actions and requirements are effectively documented and communicated.
Qualifications:
- Experience: : A minimum of 10 years' experience in HR, ideally within the financial services or insurance industry (multinational experience is preferred). You should have a proven track record in managing complex HR operations across multiple regions, with specific experience in the financial industry being highly advantageous.
- Stakeholder Management: Proven experience in managing relationships with senior business leaders and providing strategic HR support.
- HR Expertise: Strong understanding of local labour laws, HR governance, compliance, and employee relations, with a track record of navigating these in a fast-paced environment.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze HR data and trends, provide insights, and create executive-level reports.
- Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with experience in presenting information clearly and effectively to senior management.
- Problem-Solving: A proactive and resourceful individual with a solution-oriented mindset, capable of managing ambiguity and making decisions in challenging situations.
- Global Mindset: An understanding of global HR practices, with the ability to implement them effectively in a local context while respecting cultural nuances.
