Our client has its headquarters in France and is now looking to further develop its regional office in Malaysia.
The Role:
The Manufacturing Process Engineer is responsible for developing, optimizing, and improving manufacturing processes to enhance productivity, quality, and safety. This role involves identifying and implementing process improvements to reduce costs, minimize waste, and increase efficiency. The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the seamless integration of new processes, technologies, and equipment. You'll be collaborating with the Production Engineer and Workshop Lead in Malaysia and reporting to the Industrial Manager in Malaysia.
Key Responsibilities:
- Refine engineering drawings and optimize manufacturing processes for efficiency and waste reduction.
- Conduct tests, analyze data, and implement improvements for operational excellence.
- Provide technical support to resolve process issues impacting quality, cost, and throughput.
- Collaborate across teams to integrate new processes, technologies, and workflows.
- Design equipment layouts and estimate production costs for budgeting.
- Evaluate and implement new technologies to enhance efficiency.
- Negotiate with suppliers for cost-effective procurement.
- Supervise factory operations and maintain strong supplier relationships.
- Ensure technical documentation meets budget, schedule, and regulatory standards.
- Conduct design reviews and address fabrication limitations.
Candidate Requirements:
- Degree in Mechanical/Industrial Engineering with at least 1 year of experience.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Experience in structural steel fabrication is a plus.
- Proficiency in engineering drawings, manufacturing systems, and basic design software (SolidWorks & AutoCAD).
- Fluent in English and Malay (Mandarin/French is a plus).
- Willing to travel to France and other countries as required for short-term assignments.
