Our client has its headquarters in France and is now looking to further develop its regional office in Malaysia.
The Role:
He/she is in charge of the procurement process for all purchase orders from the request for quotation till delivery of equipment / services
He/she is in charge of the commercial negotiations with suppliers (payment terms, payment conditions, lead time)
He/she is in charge of the suppliers panel (sourcing of new suppliers, qualification and evaluation of suppliers)
He/she is versatile, such, has the opportunity to lead additional missions in accordance with his/her skills
WORK RELATIONSHIP
The Procurement Engineer reports to the Industrial Manager in Malaysia
TASK :
- Write and send the Request for Quotation, evaluate offers and negotiate with suppliers (price, lead-time, and terms of payment.
Perform commercial bid evaluations
Select suppliers in line with needs and objectives (planning, budget and quality)
Write and send the Purchase Order
Expedite orders with suppliers and sub-contractors
Manage any possible change orders
Manage the relationship with suppliers (communication, negotiations, disputes, evaluation, etc.)
Develop the panel of suppliers by searching new suppliers, especially in Asia
Responsible for the supplier qualification process in accordance with EXO quality procedure
Perform yearly evaluation of suppliers in accordance with EXO quality procedure
RESPONSIBILITIES
As part of the mission given to him/her, the procurement engineer is responsible for purchasing with the best quality / price ratio possible and make sure the manufacturing department receive the requested components in line with project specifications and deadlines.
He/she carries out his/her work in strict compliance with the Quality procedures in place.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS\
- Education / Degree in Procurement or equivalent major with minimum 3 years of related experience
- Knowledge in technical equipment manufacturing and associated fields of activity is a plus (machining, welding, painting, mechanics, electricity, etc.)
Knowledge in the lifting and handling sector and Oil & Gas industry is a plus
Advanced level in office software (Word, Excel, etc.)
Fluent in English (verbal and written)
Fluent in Mandarin is a plus (verbal and written)
