About the role
As the Commodity Manager, you will play a crucial role in supporting our client's business and related functions. You will also contribute to R&D activities and participate in strategic initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive commodity strategy: Align the commodity strategy with the global purchasing strategy and product roadmap, ensuring full commitment from stakeholders across the organization.
- Conduct market analysis: Regularly assess procurement markets, technology trends, supplier performance, cost developments, and procurement risks to identify opportunities and challenges.
- Build strategic partnerships: Foster relationships with key players in the industry to anticipate future needs and secure advantageous partnerships.
- Manage supply chain: Oversee foundries, OSATs, design houses, and consulting companies to support internal ICS activities.
- Supplier evaluation: Conduct supplier visits, audits, and business reviews to assess cost competitiveness, geopolitical risks, and identify cost reduction opportunities.
- Negotiate contracts: Lead negotiations for master agreements, global annual pricing lists, and other contractual terms.
- Supplier communication: Manage supplier communications, including sourcing event invitations, issue resolution, pricing negotiations, and contracting.
- Escalation management: Address supplier escalations as needed.
Requirements:
- Master's degree in Purchasing or a related field.
- In-depth knowledge of the semiconductor industry process.
- Open-mindedness and a willingness to learn.
- Interest in working in a technical environment, particularly semiconductors.
- Ability to work effectively in a global, multicultural environment.
- Proficiency in MS Office Excel, PowerPoint, Projects, Word, and MS D365.
- Results-oriented mindset with a strong drive for action.
- Motivated team player with a creative and innovative problem-solving approach.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Additional language skills are a plus.
