About the Role

They are seeking an experienced and dynamic Sales Director to lead their commercial operations in Malaysia, with a strategic mandate to expand across Southeast Asia. Based in Kuala Lumpur, this role is critical in driving revenue growth, building high-performing teams, and strengthening our regional presence.

The Sales Director will manage a team of 5 professionals and work closely with the headquarter in Europe, operating in a highly international and collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

Commercial Leadership & Strategy

  • Define and execute the sales strategy for Malaysia, aligned with global objectives

  • Identify growth opportunities and prepare for expansion into Southeast Asia markets

  • Develop and manage key customer relationships and strategic partnerships

  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer needs to adapt strategy

Business Development

  • Drive new business acquisition and revenue growth

  • Expand the company's presence beyond Malaysia across Southeast Asia, for instance, by identifying, developing, and appointing new distributor partners throughout the region.

  • Represent the company at industry events and key client meetings

Team Management

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of 5 sales professionals

  • Establish clear performance objectives and KPIs

  • Foster a high-performance, results-driven culture

Financial & P&L Responsibility

  • Own and manage the P&L for the Malaysian business

  • Develop budgets, forecasts, and financial plans

  • Ensure strong financial discipline and profitability

  • Work closely with finance teams to monitor performance and optimize margins

International Collaboration

  • Maintain weekly communication with headquarters in Europe

  • Align local execution with global strategies and standards

  • Contribute to international projects and cross-regional initiatives

Travel

  • Willingness to travel across Asia and periodically to Europe (HQ)

Requirements

Experience & Skills

  • Proven experience in a senior sales leadership role, preferably in an international company

  • Strong track record of delivering revenue growth and market expansion

  • Experience managing and developing sales & marketing teams

  • Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial management, including P&L ownership

  • Experience working in or with Southeast Asian markets is a strong advantage

  • Previous experience in the premium Hi-Fi industry or within the premium consumer goods sector would be considered a strong advantage.
