Job Description:

  • Responsible for Land branch performance in accordance with company policy and procedures.
  • Manages the tactical activities for branch area of assignment related to marketing, finance, logistics and operations to ensure successful revenue, productivity, and profitability levels
  • Oversees workforce planning and development for the branch to ensure employee capability and performance align with the company overall business needs.
  • Ensures compliance with safety, security, regulatory, and company policies.
  • Manage Field Sales to hunt , develop and secure business with new and existing Land customers.
  • Monitors the market to generate new business opportunities and acquire new business , measured against defined KPIs leading to revenue, volume and profitable growth.
  • Ensuring overall customer satisfaction. Actively develops the system freight network business.

Specific Accountabilities:

  • Full P&L responsibility for the Land branch.
  • Create and execute the branch business plan for the Land product.
  • Provide sound leadership for the Land branch.
  • Ensure branch profitability.
  • Manage and develops branch personnel.
  • Represent first escalation point and ensures a smooth de-escalation.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key customers. Regular customer visits.
  • Coordinate the resolution of business issues with relevant stakeholders.
  • Responsibility for the Land branchs budget and achievement of branch-specific KPIs.
  • Ensure sustainable growth of Field Sales customers in terms of Revenue GP.
  • Steering and coordinating branch field sales activities (target setting, account planning, alignment regarding use of tools and CRM).
  • Foster cross-selling activities within the branch and cluster.
  • Ensure cost efficient sales support activities supporting field sales representatives focusing on customer facing activities.
  • Define target customer list for and with Field Sales at least twice per year.
  • Lead, coach and motivate Field Sales team, e.g. manage performance, train and develop talent, build team capabilities and individual competencies.
  • Keep close and regular communication and alignment with Cluster Product Management.
  • Steer Customer Service regarding retention of existing customers.
  • Actively reviews and manages the performance of customers through corrective action planning against performance results, including potential exit planning with loss making customers.
  • Manages and grows own portfolio of existing and potential A+ and A customers. Size depends on number of employees in the team.
  • Drives Field Sales team to secure the necessary size and quality of the pipeline for Land to reach budget.
  • Join sales visits.
  • Drives for DB Schenker corporate culture within the Land branch.
  • Supports development of the system freight network, eg through assignment of Field Sales staff, sprints.
  • Responsible for all cross dock operations (quality & safety) within branch territory, regardless if outsourced or self-operated.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in management or any related fields such as transport, logistics, supply chain, etc.
  • 3-5 years of relevant managerial experience within the industry.
  • Result oriented.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Strong leadership personality.
  • Sales competencies such as Strategic Selling Skills, Strategic Account Management Skills, Customer-centricity, Presentation and Negotiation Skills.
  • Strong verbal and writing communication skills - competent in English language both written and spoken.
  • Good knowledge of Ms. Office (Word, Excel, Power-Point, Visio and other applications).
