Job Overview: 

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Mechanical Engineer to join our client's team, a leading manufacturer of FRP/GRP sectional water tanks. As a Junior Mechanical Engineer, you will support the design, development, and optimization of mechanical systems and components. Key Responsibilities:

  • Product Design & Development: Assist in the design and development of mechanical/structural components and systems related to FRP water tanks, ensuring they meet product specifications and quality standards.
  • Technical Calculations: Responsible for the calculations of our Bill of Materials (BOM) according to tank size and customer specifications.
  • 3D Modeling & CAD: Create and modify 3D models, drawings, and schematics using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
  • Prototyping & Testing: Support the creation of prototypes and conduct testing to validate designs and assess performance.
  • Manufacturing Support: Collaborate with production teams to ensure designs are manufacturable and to troubleshoot issues during the manufacturing process.
  • Quality Control: Ensure that products & accessories manufactured meets the in-house quality standards.
  • Process Improvement: Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, providing technical insights to enhance manufacturing processes and efficiency.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Prepare technical documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and reports. Maintain accurate records of design revisions and changes.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including other engineers, production staff, and quality assurance, to ensure the successful development and implementation of mechanical solutions.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Experience: 0-3 years of experience in mechanical engineering, ideally in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar)
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
    • Understanding of mechanical systems, materials, and manufacturing processes.
    • Familiarity with basic mechanical engineering principles, including thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and material science.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot design and manufacturing issues.
  • Attention to Detail: Excellent attention to detail, with a focus on accuracy in design, calculation and documentation.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively with various stakeholders.
  • Time Management: Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Internship or hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, SolidWorks and Microsoft Excel
  • Basic understanding of Lean manufacturing principles or Six Sigma methodologies.
