Job Summary:
As a Project Engineer, you will play a key role in the planning, coordination, and execution of projects involving beverage processing equipment and hygienic piping systems. You will work closely with the Project Manager and cross-functional teams to ensure timely and successful delivery of projects that meet client specifications and industry standards.
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist in the planning, design, and execution of process equipment and piping system projects.
- Develop and interpret P&IDs, process flow diagrams, piping layouts, and equipment specifications.
- Coordinate with internal departments (design, procurement, fabrication, and site team) to ensure smooth project execution.
- Supervise and support equipment installation, piping fabrication, and commissioning activities at customer sites.
- Ensure all work complies with GMP, 3-A sanitary standards, and client requirements.
- Prepare and maintain accurate technical documentation, including BOMs, datasheets, and progress reports.
- Track project progress, cost, and schedule; highlight any deviations to the Project Manager.
- Liaise with clients, vendors, and subcontractors to resolve technical issues and ensure project alignment.
- Conduct site surveys, FATs, SATs, and assist in project handover.
- Ensure safety and quality standards are adhered to on-site.
Requirements:
- Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related
discipline. - Minimum 2–3 years of experience in project engineering, preferably in the beverage, food, or dairy industry.
- Hands-on experience with sanitary process systems, pumps, valves, heat exchangers, and piping systems.
Strong understanding of P&ID development, piping design, and hygienic equipment layout. - Proficiency in engineering software such as AutoCAD, Inventor, or equivalent.
- Good command of spoken and written English and Bahasa Malaysia.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to travel to project sites when required.
Preferred Attributes:
- Familiarity with CIP systems, pasteurizers, and mixing/blending skids.
- Knowledge of relevant standards such as ASME BPE, 3-A, or EHEDG.
- Basic knowledge of PLC/automation systems is an advantage.
- Possession of a valid driving license and own transport is preferred.
