Project Lead - Commissioning Concentrator Plant - Mining - Northern Cape

Our client, an international mining company, is expanding one of their flagship projects in the Northern Cape. They have an exciting opportunity on a fixed-term contract for a Project Engineering Lead, to assist their rapid growth.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Contribute to mining design to ensure safe and productive production.
• Involved in all stages of the project.
• Participate in the analysis of proposed mining methods.
• Oversee major construction projects.
• Oversee several interdependent processes and activities.
• Balance the demands of different priorities and situations on-site.
• Work closely with contractors and Section Managers, including Infrastructure/Utilities, to ensure the project is on schedule, within budget, and within the scope of design.
• Implement clear delegation of authorities for site implementation within the Production Delegation of Authority.
• Review inspection reports and payment requests to ensure work is completed within specifications, budget, and conforms to all statutory regulations.

Experience and Qualifications:

• The ideal candidate should hold a tertiary qualification in Bachelor Degree Engineering Mining with at least 10 to 15 years solid experience in opencast and underground mining.
• He/she must have extensive project management experience in the mining environment.
• He/she must be registered with ECSA as a Professional Engineer / Professional Certified Engineer.
• He/she must be willing to carry a legal appointment.
