About the job ENVIRONMENTAL OFFICER - NORTHERN CAPE
Our client, a leading mining company in the Northern Cape, is seeking a qualified and experienced Environmental Officer to identify, evaluate and control environmental risks that could negatively impact on the environment and health of people and promote sustainable practices, which include but not limited to:
Environmental risk management
- Reporting
- Environmental management
- SHERQ adherence and compliance
Work Ethics
QUALIFICATIONS
National Diploma/Degree in Environmental Management
- Certificate in Mine Rehabilitation and Closure EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of five (5) years operational Mine Environmental related field experience
- Minimum of three (3) years operational Integrated Risk Management System experience an advantage
- Drivers license - Valid Code EB/B driver's license
Legal Appointment - 2.6.1 Appointment as per site conditions
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
Technical Knowledge - Waste Management; - Monitoring of Water and dust - Working knowledge of horticulture
- Computer Literacy - Basic user of MS Office (MS Word/Excel/PowerPoint)
- SHERQ Knowledge - Working knowledge of Legal Registry; Related policies and procedures; COPs and SPs; Risk assessments; Root cause analysis; IOS system and audit knowledge
- Statutory Knowledge - Working knowledge of environmental legislation
- Influencing and Change management skills - Ability to influence people across disciplines against their pre-held views; Effective change management
· Policies and Procedures - Working knowledge of all related policies and procedures
