Our esteemed client is a prominent mining company operating in Liberia, spanning three significant mines: Bea, Bomi, and Mano. These unique mining assets are set to be further enhanced by world-class concentrator plants, designed to convert magnetite ore into high-grade premium iron ore. Additionally, significant logistics solutions and state-of-the-art port infrastructure will support their operations, solidifying their position as a leader in the industry.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Lead and oversee the safety during the entire project cycle.
  • Conduct risk assessments to identify hazards and develop a mitigation plan.
  • Ensure statutory compliance with safety and environmental laws.
  • Conduct safety audits, generate non-conformance, identify corrective actions, and monitor their implementation.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of risk controls regularly.
  • Track safety performance metrics to identify areas of improvement and develop and implement initiatives to enhance safety performance.
  • Investigate safety incidents, identify root causes, and generate CAPA and lessons learned.
  • Ensure implementation of resource module requirements and safety standards through coordination with various departments to close CAPA (Corrective and
  • Preventative Actions) points.
  • Implement stringently Mine safety standards.
  • Contribute to the projects HAZOP studies.
  • Develop and deliver safety training/induction programs for employees, business partners and visitors to ensure awareness and compliance with safety policies and procedures.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor access control at the project site.
  • Ensure that machines, construction equipment, vehicles, tools, and tackles are inspected according to a standard checklist before use at the project site.
  • Communicate effectively with all stakeholders to promote a shared commitment towards safety.
  • Benchmark with the latest industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices in safety to drive a culture of Zero Harm

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelors degree with over 10 years of experience with an Advanced Diploma in Industrial Safety
  • Proven leadership abilities with a track record of mentoring and guiding a team.
  • Familiarity with Liberian regulations, standards, and best practices is advantageous.
