Job Title: Compliance and Quality Manager
Location: Remote with regular travel
Salary: up to £55,000 plus a performance related bonus
Job Type: Full-time (40 hours per week)
Purpose:
To support care providers in meeting their regulatory requirements and to represent Affinity Care Advisory as a trusted specialist in compliance within the care sector.
Key Responsibilities
Regulatory Support:
-Assist providers in completing and submitting new CQC registration applications.
-Guide new entrants to the care sector in understanding and navigating the regulatory landscape.
-Provide business planning advice, pre-registration support, and initial compliance consultancy to ensure a strong foundation for new providers.
-Coach Registered Managers to prepare for successful CQC interviews.
-Develop tailored action plans and service improvement plans to address areas of concern identified by providers or CQC.
Policy and Documentation Development:
-Design and maintain high quality policy and procedure templates to meet care sector compliance standards.
-Produce other essential regulatory documents, including Statements of Purpose, risk assessments, compliance matrices, and governance frameworks.
Consultation Leadership:
-Provide expert operational leadership to external care providers, driving excellence in service delivery.
-Collaborate closely with onsite managers to enhance performance, implement best practices, and achieve outstanding care standards.
-Deliver comprehensive written reports on care setting performance, offering clear insights and strategic recommendations.
-Engage with directors, owners, and senior leadership teams to review performance metrics and drive continuous improvement.
-Offer hands-on leadership coaching and mentorship to onsite managers, empowering them to develop their skills and lead with confidence.
Stakeholder Engagement:
-Collaborate with providers, managers, and other stakeholders to identify and address compliance gaps.
-Act as a trusted advisor for care providers during challenging situations, such as CQC investigations or enforcement actions.
Crisis Intervention:
-Lead crisis management interventions for providers facing urgent regulatory issues or safeguarding concerns.
-Act as a liaison between providers and CQC during enforcement actions, investigations, or improvement plans.
Event Representation:
-Represent Affinity Care Advisory at industry events, conferences, and workshops to promote the company's expertise and services.
-Build awareness and maintain relationships with key stakeholders within the care sector.
Research and Development:
-Stay informed on updates in legislation, regulation, guidance, and care sector trends.
-Continuously improve templates, resources, and services to align with evolving standards and provider needs.
Other Responsibilities:
-Provide detailed written reports summarising findings, risks, and recommendations following audits and reviews.
-Participate in business development activities, including client meetings and presentations.
-Support Affinity Care Advisory in developing new services and improving existing processes.
-Any other duties deemed necessary by the business.
Skills & Experience Required:
-Proven experience in risk management, internal controls, and auditing in a care sector or regulated environment.
-Demonstrated ability to plan and conduct assurance reviews, document findings, and deliver evidence based recommendations.
-Strong understanding of CQC regulations, including registration processes, the Single Assessment Framework, and enforcement actions.
-Experience working with diverse stakeholders, including care providers, Registered Managers, and regulatory bodies.
-Exceptional ability to prioritise a demanding workload and work to tight deadlines.
-A proactive approach to keeping up to date with research, legislation, and care sector best practices.
-Strong team player with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
-Willingness to travel to client sites and other business locations.
-Excellent organisational and planning skills, with high attention to detail. -Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
-Presentation skills with the ability to convey complex information clearly and confidently.
