Job Description
Due to the continuing success and growth of our team in the UK, this fantastic opportunity has opened up at our award-winning specialist consultancy, engineering and advisory firm.
At AESG we are looking for a Façade Engineer to support the Building Safety & Advisory division and work alongside our other specialist disciplines. The role will be based in London, UK, supporting the successful delivery of UK and international projects, working with project team throughout all project phases and covering all aspects of Façade Engineering.
This role offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced and motivated Façade Engineer seeking a position within a growing and ambitious company with a unique service offering that provides a significant opportunity for progression and career development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Independently manage complex projects and resolve complex project issues- at detail design and construction stage and remedial of existing projects.
- Conduct Façade diagnosis inspections and reporting.
- Conduct factory & site inspections and reporting, including testing and visual & performance mockups.
- Generating multiple instance of repeat work with clients.
- Provide guidance and leadership to more junior team members and provide line management.
- Updating existing construction check list templates.
- Keeping up to date with façade market/standards/code of practice.
- Development of research publications.
Qualification /Experience:
- Bachelors degree in Architecture, Engineering or equivalent
- A minimum of 3-5 years of façade design and engineering experience
- Sound technical knowledge in Façade/Engineering within Residential, Commercial and Hotels sectors.
- Chartered Engineer with IstructE or a Member of Society of Façade Engineering - preferred
- A thorough understanding of façade engineering and interdisciplinary design through all stages of the design process
- Able to take a brief from the project lead and deliver & control the tasks required, within time and budget
- Familiar with international codes such as ASTM, and BS EN
- Familiar with engineering software such as Strand7, Therm, Staad, Solidworks. Grasshopper and Rhino is a plus
- Ability to conduct finite element analysis for complex glazed elements, metal components and other materials
