Job Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Associate Environmental Consultant to lead and manage a variety of clients and environmental projects to join our business in Cape Town.

Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the overall direction, strategy, and success of AESG as part of the company leadership team
  • Independently manage complex projects and resolve complex project issues
  • Generation of repeat work with clients
  • Mentorship and line management
  • Support the commercial success and stability of the division by ensuring commercial management on projects
  • Ensure the successful delivery of projects to exemplar levels of quality
  • Develop client relationships and seek repeat work from existing clients through excellent and timely project delivery
  • Business development, both in terms of environmental matters, but also across the business (cross-selling)
  • Assist with the day-to-day management of AESGs environment division, including overseeing project delivery, resource management and proposals
  • Provide thought leadership in the division and industry
  • Support development of procedures to improve division function and efficiency

Essential Skills:

  • (Required) Bachelors Degree in Environmental Sciences or other relevant studies
  • (Preferred) Masters of post-graduate degree in a relevant field of study
  • 8 to 12+ years of relevant professional experience
  • Proven track record in business development, work winning and client care
  • Minimum 5 years in a project supervisory / leadership role
