Job Description
Due to the continuing success and growth of our team in the UK, this fantastic opportunity has opened up at our award-winning specialist consultancy, engineering and advisory firm.
At AESG we are looking for a Fire Surveyor to support the Building Safety & Advisory division and work alongside our other specialist disciplines. The role will be based in London, UK, and will involve carrying out thorough site inspections, identifying deficiencies in compartmentation and passive fire protection systems, and producing clear, actionable reports to support fire safety compliance in line with UK regulations and industry best practice.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct detailed fire-stopping and compartmentation inspections, including assessment of walls, floors, service penetrations, fire doors, and voids.
- Produce accurate and comprehensive survey reports, including photographic evidence, recommendations, and prioritised actions.
- Identify non-compliance with Approved Document B, BS 9991, BS 9999, BS 8214, and relevant manufacturer guidelines.
- Support Fire Risk Assessments (FRAs) with technical input relating to passive fire protection.
- Liaise with project managers, contractors, and building owners to provide expert guidance on remedial works and installation standards.
Qualification /Experience:
- A recognised UK Spec Qualification (Level 3 or higher) in a relevant fire safety discipline with demonstrable career in Fire Engineering industry, training and delivery.
- Familiarity with fire compartmentation standards, fire-resisting construction, and fire door inspection.
- Should demonstrate a good working knowledge of UK legislation, regulations, standards and industry best practice guides for the built environment.
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in fire-stopping inspections, passive fire protection, or fire risk surveying.
