Administrative Medical Records Technician
The Administrative Medical Records Technician performs a variety of administrative and clerical tasks related to medical and dental records. Duties of the Administrative Medical Records Technician include maintaining medical and dental records both electronic and hard-copies, realeasing Protected Health Information (PHI), validating Electronic Health Records (EHR), and fulfilling the administrative functions to provide support to the State Service Treatment Record Maintenance Office (SSMO).
This role requires excellent communication skills. You’ll collaborate with various outside government agencies, supervise administrative functions related to medical and dental, and provide reports to senior personnel. The work schedule for this position may include some weekends due to military training requirments.

Daily Duties
- Scanning, filing, and retiring medical and dental records
- Shipping retired medical records to the appropriate storage facilities
- Verify records match patient identification
- Coordinate, perform, and manage a variety of tasks and activities in direct support of senior leaders to include office management, human resources, executive staff support, postal, official mail, and a variety of other services and duties
- Manage medical record databases for the storage, modification, and retrieval of information to produce reports, answer queries, and record transactions
- Manage timeliness and accuracy of medical records
- Perform clerical and personnel security and general administrative duties, including typing and filing
- Perform various administrative functions in support of military and civilian leaders, including calendar management and meeting support
- Ensure accuracy of information in personnel and manpower database systems
- Perform research, interview personnel, and prepare analytical historical publications; assemble and maintain historical document repositories for reference and research
Skills
- Proven experience handling medical records
- Working knowledge of Army, Navy, or Air Force automated medical record systems and procedures
- Must have high level of interpersonal and problem-solving skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations. Position continually requires demonstrated poise and tact.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, with a focus on Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task
- Must be capable of conducting meetings and conferences and possess the ability to demonstrate informative and persuasive speaking

EDUCATION/WORK EXPERIENCE:
- Two years college education or 4+ years field experience

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $39,520.00 - $62,400.00 per year
