About the job Deputy General Manager - Human Resources
Key Responsibilities :
Together with the guidance of the HR director, support the alignment of HR strategies to the organizational internal/corporate business strategies to deliver annual and long-term organization objectives.
Act as a custodian for HR policies and practices to ensure alignment to the group and division protocol.
Oversee the formulation and achievement of manpower plan and ensure recruitments are met and are in line to the budget.
Ensure a comprehensive talent pipeline is in place for the respective operation units by driving the relevant strategies, direction on promotion processes, internal talent movement/transfer process, TL/GL processes whilst continuously monitoring and driving solutions.
Support Manufacturing plant requirements by collaborating effectively with multiple stakeholders to execute HR related projects and support plant initiatives in boosting employee morale and needle point efficiency.
Drive a comprehensive engagement and grievance handling process for the operations unit driving and approving all engagement activities and relevant
calendars, engaging in matters pertaining to Industrial Relations, JCC forums, thereby supporting the plant management to ensure a healthy work environment.
Oversee the Learning and development Strategy/ Performance management strategy for the operations unit for associate staff/Worker and Directs.
Monitor and ensure the implementation of a compliant Legal and sustainability framework within the business whilst providing adequate support and direction.
Liaise with all stakeholders and carry out relevant audits for code of conduct, ethical practices, health and safety practices etc. in order to ensure compliance standards are met as per International customer guidelines.
Drive, establish and sustain relationships across all employee categories as the custodian & conduit from the division (HR Operations), whilst representing the unit in all allocated projects and thereby ensuring a strong work relationship amongst the said parties and also within Divisions/SBUs of the client.
Ensure perfect execution through the team on all general/administrative HR processes and systems for the organization with zero compliance issues.
Assist the HR Director to establish optimal HR structures within the respective plant to support and enhance the quality of HR services to the Business, in adherence to the Group structure standards, by way of effectively engaging in structure and resource optimization initiatives driven by Group.
Oversee and develop the entire transport services to be in line with the safety standards, timeliness and budgetary limits.
Identify and drive environment and social sustainability projects through to completion for the respective plants.
Ensure the effective operation of all canteen and security services, facilities / requirements and suppliers of cafeteria and participate in food committee meetings to collate employee feedback.
Perform additional duties commensurate with the current role, as and when requested by management.
Key Requirements:
- Native of Odisha and fluent in Oriya
- Prior experience in medium to large-scale manufacturing environments
- Strong knowledge of local labor laws and familiarity with regional talent catchment areas
- Ability to engage and influence local government and community stakeholders
- Capability to manage and navigate the complex organizational structure of the client
- Looking for a hands-on candidate in handling groundworks. As the plant in Odisha is entirely new, the DGM is expected to be hands-on in managing HR operational works
- Reports to Country HR Head, who's a Sri Lankan based in Chennai, India
- The role doesn't need to develop and prepare HR policies & procedures from scratch. Leverage on Group/HQ (Sri Lanka) practices and localize it for the plant in Odisha.
- Upon hired, the incumbent will be sent to work in Sri Lanka HQ office for 2 months to get himself/herself familiarize with the client's policy & culture.
