Position Assistant General Manager

Reports to: General Manager

Job Summary

  • Assume full responsibility for the operation.
  • Ensure maximum revenue and profit is achieved from all sales opportunities.
  • Monitor and report on weekly food, beverage, variable and wage costs and ensure in line with budget.
  • Explore measures to reduce and control cost and implement such measures where possible.
  • Ensure all CGS weekly key line reports and monthly stock result meet loss targets.
  • Attend all committee meetings, membership, member liaison and responsibility for action in regard to members feedback and experience.
  • Ensure food & service standards, product knowledge are maintained to the highest standard.
  • Cookhouse and House Tonic initiatives fully supported and passion for food driven across the team.
  • Attend all menu tastings, advice on and approve menus and development. Structured tastings across the year scheduled.
  • Ensure that all preventative maintenance and repair is maintained as per standard meeting monthly audit standards.
  • Monitor and approve all PR and Marketing associated with Soho House Mumbai, ensuring consistency, quality and integrity across the Soho House brand.
  • Run weekly management training and meetings as and when required.
  • Complete and submit a weekly General Managers Audit every Monday.
  • Ensure that effective training is frequently conducted within the Unit.
  • Oversee the recruitment of new employees across all departments.
  • Where appropriate, chair disciplinary hearings.
  • Plan and approve the weekly management rotas and holiday requests for management team.
  • Monitor and act accordingly with regards to the Mystery Diner Reports.
  • Monitor and act accordingly with regards to the Food Alert Audits.
  • Ensure the Companys Health & Safety policy is adhered to at all times.
  • Ensure that the team is aware of their responsibilities in respect of prevention and action in the event of fire in accordance with the propertys fire plan and current legislation-under H & S below.
  • Be fully conversant with current legislation and licensing laws.
  • Monitor floor managers management, growth and expectation
  • Maintaining a certain harmony and positive attitude within the service team
  • Develop service knowledge of service team
  • The job will require to be present of the floor and participate to the service
  • Any ad hoc duties as directed by General Manager

Health and Safety

  • Ensure that all potential and real hazards are reported immediately and rectified.
  • Be fully conversant with all departmental Fire, Emergency and bomb procedures.
  • Emergency procedures are rehearsed quarterly with attendance records, implemented and enforced to provide for the security and safety of guests and employees.
  • Ensure the safety of the persons and the property of all within the premises, by strict adherence to existing laws, statutes and applicable ordinances, and by anticipating possible and probable hazards and conditions and either correcting them or pre-planning a defense against them.
  • Stimulate and encourage a general awareness of Health and Safety in relation to all tasks and activities undertaken in the department.
