About the job Group Finance Director

We are seeking a Group Finance Director for our client in mining industry. The Group Finance Director will work alongside the Group CFO / COO, assisting with oversight of the finance function and teams. The role will be based in Singapore, with regular travel to the countries of operations required. We are looking for a solutions-driven individual that can show a high level of initiative to join the team at this exciting stage of growth.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial and Operational Performance

  • Oversee the preparation of accounts including regular reporting and analysis.
  • Implement budgets for operating countries and conduct quarterly reviews in accordance with the groups strategy.
  • Enforce review/reporting/accountability culture with relevant management.
  • Provide analysis and recommendations on investments, tenders and existing projects.
  • Enhance the quality of the management and statutory accounts by ensuring compliance with international accounting standards.

Statutory Compliance

  • Ensure statutory compliance across all countries of operations, working with local legal, tax, audit and accounting advisers as required.
  • Oversee internal audit and compliance.
  • Keep updated on regulatory changes in countries of operations and plan accordingly.

Group Finance Planning

  • Plan and manage the group company structure including intercompany arrangements.
  • Plan and manage group treasury, capital management and tax.

Other

  • Support the Group CFO/COO with strategic input into the Group strategy and finance related matters.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Experience as a senior finance executive (at least 10 years), preferably with experience in extractive industries (or related services services) and in the Southeast Asian region.
  • Extensive knowledge of tax regulations across the Southeast Asia region, financial management, strategic planning, risk management, and regulatory compliance.
  • Strong understanding of financial reporting standards, and corporate governance best practices.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels, both internally and externally.
  • Proficiency in English and the ability to communicate in Thai, Lao, or Bahasa Indonesian beneficial.
  • Advanced degree in finance, accounting, or a related field, and a professional certification (e.g. CA, CPA, CFA) is preferred.
