Security Project Engineer
About the job Security Project Engineer
This role is a Resident Engineer who takes care of new security device implementation with vendor.
Main Purpose of Job
- To assist in IT Security project in identifying and evaluating IT security solutions from all stakeholders / business units and outsourcing vendors.
- To assist in IT Security reviews of requirements statements, feasibility analyses and other documents produced during the systems development process and any information systems change document.
- To be aware of and uphold security responsibilities as stated in the companys Information Security Policy by assisting in enforcing standards, policy compliance and running day-today operations.
Principle Responsibility & Duties
- Optimize and improve the Companys security design and posture.
- To assist on Planning, design and help establishing on all IT security matters including reviews of POC / Project related matters and ad hoc activities.
- Perform general problem analysis and propose feasible solutions.
- To support all PCI DSS related activities and exercises in ensuring that all activities are completed.
Minimum Job Requirements (Education & Experience)
- Diploma / Advanced Diploma or Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Security or equivalent degree. Other certification in Information Security will be an added advantage.
- Minimum of 2-4 years in IT Security work experience. Strong understanding of security policies, tools and technologies including regulatory requirements such as RMIT, CTRAG and PCIDSS
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Required
- Hands on technical experience/knowledge in implementing or architecting information security related solution, setup/implement/maintain IT security related solution/system - including End-Point Protection Software, Network Security Monitoring, Network Access Control, L2/L3 Firewalls, Routing, Switching, IDS/IPS, Proxy, WAF, VLAN, VPN Technology, Endpoint Detection & Response Solution, Threat Protection, PAM, IAM, SIEM, APT, Forensic Techniques, Content Filtering, Patch & Vulnerability Management, Encryption Technology, DLP, MDM, DHCP, DNS, HTTP, SSL, SSH, LDAP, IPSEC, etc.
- Work experience/knowledge in security threat analysis, IT security risk assessment, vulnerability assessment, security formulation, Incident Management, Vulnerability Testing / Penetration Testing and Source Code review, establish IT Security related policy/procedure.
- Experience dealing and response to audit & compliance assessment.
- Familiar with RMIT and PCI DSS related activities and expectations.
- To participate in multiple projects from start to finish.

- Must be able to handle & provide after-office hours on urgent incident escalation/support request
