We are looking for a driven Test Director (Core Replacement Program) for a leading FinTech company. The candidate shall bring a strategic mindset and structure project knowledge efficiently and offer guidance on best practices and methodology without assuming a traditional QA Lead or QA Manager title.
Job Location: Yangon, Myanmar
Contract Term: 12 - 15 Months
Position Purpose
- Provide hands-on Leadership and execution of the Testing components for the replacement of the Core System. This will require construction of the Test Strategy which defines the phases and scope of testing, sets common frameworks for the creation, execution and documenting of Test Cases and Results.
- This role will require proven negotiating and influencing skills as this program impacts all levels of the company, all customers and needs to meet the high standards required by our local Regulator.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
- Create a test strategy that details the various phases (Functional and non-Functional). This document needs to define the breadth and depth of testing required for each phase and lead, manage and report accordingly.
- Liaise with all departments within the company to ensure that all functionality is appropriately tested either Progressionally or Regressionally
- Ensure that the Requirements Traceability Matrix RTM created by the business is sufficient in detail and content to allow linkage of test cases right through to UAT
- Create a Test Summary Report template TSR that is sufficient to be utilised at the conclusion of each test phase
- Review and approve all TSRs produced
- Create various test status reports that can accurately detail progress and status on a daily basis which allow concise reporting to program executive and governance committees
- Lead and manage the UAT test phase including establishment of test cases, assignment to various individuals and progress tracking and reporting
- Liaise with the Test Automation Team to ensure effective automation of Regression Test Scripts
- Contribute to deployment sign-off activities, both before and after production deployments
- Liaise directly with Core System Provider to ensure all defects raised are appropriately assigned, root-cause identified, fixed appropriately as per their severity and priority

- Company: Executive, Program Management, and all other departments impacted by the Core Replacement Program
- Other Partners: Other banks and interfaces that will need to Regression Test against the new system
- FI partner: A partner bank
- Vendors: Core System Provider, Middleware Development Team and others that may be identified
Experience, Functional Skills and Knowledge Areas
- 10-15 years experience in delivering testing services within large complex technology projects
- Proven experience in leading the Testing function of a complex program of work which incorporates multiple integrations and Data Migration
- Proven experience in managing a dedicated test team (both directly and via matrix)
- Sound knowledge of both Waterfall, Agile and Hybrid project methodologies
- Experienced in dealing with a variety of multi-cultural/company employees
- Excellent skills in utilising JIRA, Test Director or other testing tools
- Exposure to testing projects that require Data Migration
