About the job Senior Data Architect
We are looking for as Senior Data Architect who is having experience in Architecting, Governing and implementing the Data Analytics capabilities for Retail and wholesale businesses. The candidate will be working closely with GCTO and Data team. This person will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing data solutions that support our business objectives, ensuring data security, optimizing data warehousing, standardizing data visualization, and facilitating data migrations. Your expertise will enable us to make data-driven decisions, enhance efficiency, and maintain data integrity across various departments.

Core Responsibilities:
- Design and develop data architecture solutions that align with the organization's strategic goals and objectives. Create and maintain data models, schemas, and metadata structures.
- Collaborate with data engineers to build and maintain data pipelines, ensuring the efficient extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) of data from various sources into our data warehouse.
- Implement and enforce data security measures, including access controls, encryption, and data masking, to safeguard sensitive information and ensure compliance with data privacy regulations.
- Continuously monitor and optimize the performance and scalability of the data warehouse, identifying areas for improvement and implementing enhancements.
- Define and enforce data visualization standards and best practices, working closely with business intelligence teams to ensure consistent and effective data presentation.
- Lead data warehouse migration projects, including planning, testing, and execution, to ensure smooth transitions to updated or new data platforms.
- Design and implement role-based data access controls, defining user roles and permissions to restrict or grant access to specific data sets based on job roles and responsibilities.
- Establish data governance policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure data quality, accuracy, and consistency across the organization.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of data architectures, processes, and solutions to facilitate knowledge sharing and future reference.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, business analysts, and data Analysts, to understand their data requirements and provide data solutions that support their needs.
- Evaluate and select third-party tools, technologies, and services that align with our data architecture and engineering needs. Manage vendor relationships as necessary.
Qualification & Experience:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Data Architect or in a similar role within the retail and distribution industry.
- Proficiency in data modeling, ETL processes, and data warehousing concepts.
- Strong knowledge of data security and privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
- Expertise in data visualization tools and practices.
- Experience with data migration projects and managing role-based data access.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Knowledge of retail and distribution business processes is a plus.
