Company Overview:

Join our rapidly growing startup that has been expanding across the APAC region since 2020. We have evolved from using basic tools like Excel to implementing a structured finance department. With significant growth on the horizon, we are seeking a strategic and experienced Vice President of Finance to lead and scale our finance operations.

Position Overview:

We are looking for a seasoned Vice President of Finance to oversee our finance department and drive strategic alignment with the company's growth objectives. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), you will manage a team including the Finance Director and his subordinates, and be pivotal in scaling and aligning our finance functions. This role requires strong stakeholder management skills, both internally and externally, to support the company's ambitious expansion plans.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement financial strategies that support the companys growth and operational goals. Ensure the finance departments activities are aligned with the overall business objectives.
  • Department Oversight: Manage the Finance Director, who oversees a team including an Accounting Manager, two FP&A (Financial Planning & Analysis) professionals, and a Business Intelligence (BI) specialist. Oversee the finance functions in Malaysia and Bangkok, ensuring integration and alignment across regions.
  • System Implementation: Build on the recent transition from Excel-based systems to a structured finance system. Drive continuous improvement in financial processes and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Financial Management: Oversee financial planning, budgeting, and reporting. Ensure robust financial controls and compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Stakeholder Management: Engage with internal stakeholders, including department heads and senior management, as well as external stakeholders such as shareholders and investors. Provide insightful financial analysis and reports to support decision-making.
  • Growth and Scaling: Lead initiatives to scale the finance department in line with company growth. Implement strategies to align the finance function with the companys expanding needs and objectives.
  • Team Development: Support and mentor the Finance Director and their team, fostering professional development and ensuring high performance. Build a collaborative and high-functioning finance team.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Extensive experience in finance leadership roles within multinational corporations (MNCs) or rapidly growing startups. Proven track record of managing finance teams and implementing financial systems.
  • Stakeholder Management: Strong ability to manage and engage with a wide range of stakeholders, including senior management, department heads, and external investors.
  • System and Process Expertise: Experience in transitioning from basic financial tools to advanced finance systems. Demonstrated ability to enhance financial processes and systems.
  • Leadership Skills: Exceptional leadership and team management skills with a focus on scaling and aligning finance operations with business growth.
  • Education: Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. Advanced degrees (e.g., MBA, CPA) or professional certifications are highly desirable.
  • Skills: Strong analytical abilities, excellent communication skills, and a strategic mindset.
