Logistics Manager

1. Job Purpose

We are hiring a Logistics Coordinator to manage the end-to-end movement of over 100 material packages, many of which are imports. The role includes customs clearance, freight forwarding, and coordinating free-issue materials from contractors or suppliers to the project site. The focus is on ensuring timely delivery, reducing delays, and controlling logistics costs.

2. Project Background

• Part of a $150 million greenfield project based in Rayong, Thailand

• Initial production capacity: 120 KTPA (Phase 1)

• Youll support project and commissioning teams now, and later the operations team serving tyre manufacturers

• Technology used includes SAP and Automated Warehouse Systems (ASRS)

3. Role Context and Key Challenges

This role requires handling over 100 material packages with multiple delivery timelines. Many of these are imported, demanding close coordination with freight forwarders, customs agents, and transport teams. Key challenges include:

• Managing complex delivery schedules

• Ensuring on-time customs clearance

• Coordinating across multiple logistics partners

• Controlling costs while meeting tight timelines

• Managing free-issue materials from contractors or suppliers

4. Core Responsibilities

• Import Coordination:
  Work with freight forwarders and customs brokers to clear imported materials on time. Ensure documentation and compliance with all regulations.

• Material Handling & Transport:
  Oversee the unloading, handling, and delivery of materials to the construction site. Ensure free-issue materials are tracked and delivered on schedule. Optimize routes and warehouse usage to save time and cost.

• Vendor & Stakeholder Management:
  Collaborate with project teams, procurement, vendors, and transporters to ensure timely availability of materials. Quickly resolve any logistics issues or delays.

• Compliance & Safety:
  Ensure all materials meet customs and safety regulations. Follow EHS standards, especially for hazardous items, and keep complete transport and shipping records.

5. Reporting Structure

This role reports to the Lead Warehouse and collaborates closely with the Supply Chain Head and Site Head.

6. Key Collaborations

Internal Teams:
Daily coordination with the project team, purchasing, contractors, logistics partners, and accounts.

External Parties:
Liaison with customs brokers, freight forwarders, shipping agents, and transport providers as needed.

7. Ideal Candidate Profile

• Education:
  Bachelors degree in Logistics, Materials Management, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field

• Experience:
  810 years in logistics operations, preferably in greenfield project environments
  Strong background in customs clearance, freight forwarding, and supply chain coordination

• Skills:
  Proficient in SAP or similar ERP systems
  Good communication in Thai and English
  Strong coordination and problem-solving abilities

• Preferred Industries:
  Construction, manufacturing, chemicals, carbon black, cement, petroleum

• Nice to Have:
  Certification in Import-Export Management or SAP ERP
  Experience in warehouse and stores management
  Greenfield project experience is a must
