Job Summary:

The Operations Manager will be responsible for leading and managing the end-to-end operational activities of the Thailand branch. This role demands strong coordination skills with internal teams, shipping lines, agents, and customers to ensure timely execution of shipments, resolution of escalations, and overall process efficiency. The candidate should also act as a strong support to the Sales and Documentation teams while ensuring profitability and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead daily operations for the Thailand branch and ensure all functions are running smoothly and efficiently.
  • Handle operational escalations and intervene in customer and liner communications to avoid delays or repeated follow-ups.
  • Liaise with shipping lines for booking delays, debit notes, and shipment-related issues.
  • Coordinate with the Finance team for day-to-day liner payments and assist in prioritizing critical payments.
  • Ensure timely manifest filing for shipments ex-Indonesia in coordination with the documentation team, along with release of HBL & MBL.
  • Follow up with back-office teams to ensure timely job closure with correct profit reporting.
  • Keep track of nomination shipments and ensure prompt and professional replies to agents.
  • Support the sales team with operational insights and coordination, acting as a key sales support contact.
  • Act as a backup for the operations team during critical periods or staff absence.
  • Provide rate quotations to agents for received inquiries and ensure competitive and accurate pricing.
  • Coordinate and ensure timely signing of agreements with liners and agents.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelors Degree.
  • Minimum 7-10 years of experience in Freight Forwarding / Logistics operations, with at least 3-4 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of freight processes, including cross-trade.
  • Excellent communication, coordination, and team management skills.
  • Ability to multitask, handle pressure, and drive timely resolutions.
  • Good working knowledge of documentation processes, profit monitoring, and cost control.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and operational ERP systems.
  • Should be comfortable with working with Indian Team and Culture.
