About the job Database Administrator

Responsibilities:

  • Proactively monitoring database performance and troubleshooting issues
  • Working cross-functionally with our engineers and analytics professionals to optimize queries, fix performance bottlenecks, improve existing schemas and design new ones
  • Creating and maintaining change control and testing processes, reviewing and approving database modifications.
  • Design / install/ configure/ manage/ Monitor/ maintain/ Tune/ backup/ security/ Troubleshoot for Oracle and PostgreSQL databases based on Solaris/ Linux.
  • SQL Query performance tuning
  • Conducting research and making recommendations on data-related products, services, protocols, and standards; planning for future growth of our data asset
  • Reviewing development and deployment processes related to databases and identifying areas of improvement (such as online schema changes)
  • Creating and maintaining documentation, troubleshooting playbooks, testing failover and recovery plans
  • Improving database expertise company-wide.
  • Ensure data security and integrity, including implementation of access controls, backups, and recovery plans.
  • Execute disaster recovery plans and procedures to ensure database availability during system outages or dysfunction.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineer, Information Systems or related technical degree; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience: 3-5 years of database management and engineering experience.
  • Experience: 3-5 years of Oracle/PostgreSQL and engineering experience.
  • Strong knowledge of database administration, Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), and systems analysis procedures
  • Experience architecting large-scale production database platforms.
  • Familiarity with system-level metrics and practical use of common Linux utilities
  • Understanding of virtualization and clustered environments.
  • Great communication skills and a passion for both teaching and learning.
  • Highly responsible, diligent, patient, and creative thinker.
  • Have a positive attitude towards work and can work under pressure.
  • Hold a driving license and able to onsite for clients in Bangkok
