*Role Overview*

We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Air Freight Procurement Manager to lead our airfreight procurement operations. In this role, you will be the driving force behind optimizing our airfreight sourcing strategy, building strong vendor relationships, and securing competitive pricing and capacity. With a focus on innovation and market intelligence, you will ensure our airfreight solutions align with our business objectives and deliver exceptional value to our customers.

*What Youll Do*

*1. Strategic Vendor Management:*

Build and nurture strategic partnerships with airlines, acting as the primary liaison for pricing, contracts, and operational efficiencies.

Negotiate block space agreements and spot-buy rates to ensure capacity and cost optimization for key trade lanes.

Lead the expansion of airfreight vendor networks, identifying and onboarding new carriers and service providers globally.

*2. Market Intelligence & Pricing Strategy:*

Analyze airfreight market trends, pricing dynamics, and trade lane capacities to provide actionable insights to stakeholders.

Maintain competitive buy rates in the rate management tool and support customer RFPs with tailored, cost-effective solutions.

Proactively identify and implement procurement strategies to mitigate risks and seize opportunities in volatile markets.

*3. Operational Excellence:*

Collaborate with operations and sales teams to align procurement strategies with customer requirements and service offerings.

Support airfreight gateway development by sourcing warehousing and local delivery services in strategic markets.

*Ensure all carriers and vendors comply with TSA, IATA, and 3PL industry standards and regulations.*

*4. Business Growth & Collaboration:*

Partner with commercial teams to position airfreight solutions as a competitive advantage in the market.

Guide cross-functional teams in developing innovative and scalable solutions for complex airfreight logistics challenges.

Act as a thought leader within the organization, representing airfreight procurement in broader strategic initiatives.

*5. Data-Driven Decision Making:*

Develop and track KPIs to measure vendor performance, cost efficiency, and procurement impact on business outcomes.

Use data and analytics to enhance procurement processes, improve cost transparency, and forecast capacity needs.

*6. Global Compliance & Risk Management:*

Ensure strict adherence to global airfreight regulations and internal policies while managing operational risks.

Lead audits and compliance reviews with carriers to uphold the highest standards of service and reliability.

*Who You Are (Key Qualifications)*

*Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or related field.*

*5+ years of experience in airfreight procurement, vendor management, or related roles within the logistics or freight forwarding industry.*

*Proven expertise in negotiating block space agreements, contracts, and competitive pricing with airlines.*

*Strong understanding of airfreight laws, TSA and IATA regulations, and trade lane strategies.*

*Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to interpret market trends and translate insights into actionable strategies.*

*Demonstrated success in managing vendor relationships and driving cost efficiencies in airfreight operations.*

*Preferred Qualifications*

Experience developing and scaling airfreight procurement capabilities to support global operations.

Familiarity with airfreight rate management tools like Magaya or Gama.

Strong business acumen with a proven track record of aligning procurement strategies with commercial objectives.

Experience in international market analysis, trade lane optimization, and gateway development.
