We are seeking an experienced Bookkeeper / Accountant with New York City (US) accounting experience to join our growing team. If you have a strong accounting background, excellent attention to detail, and experience supporting NYC-based businesses, we'd love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting functions
• Record and reconcile financial transactions
• Prepare monthly financial reports
• Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Perform bank and credit card reconciliations
• Assist with payroll and tax-related tasks
• Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance
• Support month-end and year-end closing activities

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of bookkeeping/accounting experience
• Experience working with New York City (NYC) clients or companies is required
• Strong knowledge of U.S. accounting principles and bookkeeping practices
• Proficiency in QuickBooks Online (required)
• Experience with Excel and Microsoft Office
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Xero, Bill.com, Gusto, or similar accounting software
• Knowledge of U.S. payroll and sales tax
• Experience working with CPA firms or U.S.-based businesses
