ABOUT THE ROLE:
Based in Costa Rica, you will join a dynamic team of professionals in the financial services sector, supporting global payment and settlement operations. In this role, you will contribute to ensuring accurate, compliant, and efficient financial transactions while collaborating with international stakeholders and partners.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
- Manage transaction settlement processes, including daily payment operations and reconciliation of accounting entries with high accuracy, ensuring KPIs are consistently met
- Perform payment allocation, transaction validation, and reconciliation activities, identifying and resolving discrepancies in client balances and settlements
- Provide high-quality and timely support to agent partners, business stakeholders, and internal teams
- Support both payment operations and accounting-related processes, ensuring data integrity across financial systems
- Participate in and represent the function in cross-functional projects, system migrations, and operational initiatives
- Assist in testing, validation, and post-implementation support during system or process changes
- Identify process gaps and proactively initiate improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and automation
- Ensure strict adherence to internal controls, financial regulations, and company compliance standards
- Handle and resolve operational issues and escalations in a timely and effective manner
- Contribute to documentation of processes, controls, and best practices to support operational stability
- Work is organized onsite at the office in Santa Ana, Costa Rica, with in-person collaboration as a core part of daily operations.
WHAT WE EXPECT:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field
- 2+ years of experience in payment operations, settlement processes, accounting (accounts payable/receivable), or similar financial operations roles
- Strong understanding of both payments and accounting principles, including reconciliation and financial control
- Solid Microsoft Excel skills (data analysis, reconciliation, reporting)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional and international teams
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, structured, and deadline-driven environment
- Experience supporting process improvements, system changes, or migrations is a plus
- Proficiency in English (written and verbal)
