Senior Java & Cloud Data Engineer (Full - Time Remote)

ABOUT THE ROLE:

Whether you're in any European country, you'll join forces with dedicated professionals in the marketing sector, working on exciting projects to build the next-generation data platform.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

• Enhance JVM performance for data-intensive applications.
• Diagnose and resolve issues in distributed applications running on EKS.
• Develop resilient Java services.
• Design and maintain Java-based SDKs and libraries for platform services.
• Assess and optimize the existing cloud infrastructure (Terraform IaC) supporting the Data Mesh platform, with a focus on Java-based Kafka applications.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and enhance platform performance using Datadog, CloudWatch, and Grafana.
• Implement auto-scaling strategies.
• Design solutions for high availability and disaster recovery.
• Improve infrastructure efficiency to optimize costs.
• Develop and manage automated provisioning systems for Java-based services.
• Implement GitOps workflows for release management using Jenkins and Argo CD.
• Build developer portals and self-service tooling for Kafka and data infrastructure.

WHAT WE EXPECT:

• 10+ years of experience in engineering roles, with a strong focus on Java development and JVM optimization.
• Extensive hands-on experience with AWS, particularly EKS, and proficiency in GitOps practices using ArgoCD.
• Deep understanding of event-driven architectures and expertise in monitoring tools such as Datadog, Prometheus, and Grafana.
• Strong proficiency in build tools (Maven/Gradle), unit testing frameworks, and Apache Kafka.
• Ability to monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize Java application performance effectively.
• Solid scripting skills in Python and Bash, with a strong foundation in DevOps practices and automation.
• Experience working with data mesh architectures and familiarity with DataOps methodologies.
• Flexibility to work in alignment with UK hours.
• Relevant cloud certifications are highly desirable.
