Responsibilities:

Product Development:

  • Work closely with the actuarial team to develop new products or enhance existing ones, considering both customer demand and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide guidance on investment-related features, pricing, and risk considerations for new product designs.
  • Ensure that the investment related products comply with regulatory guidelines and align with the companys risk appetite.

Asset Liability Management (ALM):

  • Adhere to the companys ALM strategy, ensuring alignment with the companys liability profile risk appetite, and investment objectives.
  • Collaborate with the actuarial team to analyze and understand the companys liabilities, including policyholder obligations, cash flow projections, and duration matching requirements.
  • Implement effective ALM techniques, such as duration matching, immunization, and cash flow matching, to manage the risks associated with asset-liability mis-matches.

Investment Strategy Development and Oversight:

  • Develop, implement, and continuously refine the company's investment strategy in line with the firms objectives and market conditions.
  • Provide strategic leadership to the investment team, ensuring that all investment activities and decisions are in alignment with the company's investment guidelines.

Portfolio Management:

  • Oversee the research, selection, and allocation of individual investments across various asset classes.
  • Continuously monitor and adjust the portfolio as required to achieve optimal performance and risk-adjusted returns.

Risk Management:

  • Development and implement robust risk management practices to monitor, manage, and mitigate risks associated with the investment portfolio.
  • Ensure alignment of the portfolio with the firms risk tolerance and investment objectives.

Market Research & Analysis:

  • Stay abreast of global and local economic trends, market developments, and emerging investment opportunities.
  • Foster relationships with key industry experts, peers, and researchers to gain insights and keep ahead of market movements.

Compliance and Reporting:

  • Ensure all investment activities comply with regulatory standards and company policies.
  • Oversee timely and accurate reporting of portfolio performance, risks, and other key metrics.

Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related field (MBA, MFin) and qualified as CFA or FRM is strongly preferred.
  • A minimum of 10 years of senior-level investment experience in banking or insurance investment setting.
  • Demonstrated track record of successful portfolio management and investment strategy development.
  • Proficient understanding of various asset classes, investment tools, and risk management practices.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Exceptional analytical, decision-making, and communication skills.
  • A deep understanding of financial markets, macroeconomic factors, and regulatory requirements.
  • High ethical standards and integrity.
