About the Role

Activus Recruitment is working on behalf of a well-established civil engineering and construction company to recruit an experienced Estimator. This role involves managing pre- and post-contract estimating activities, pricing small works and maintenance, and supporting Quantity Surveyors to ensure accurate cost estimation and value for money.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare cost estimates and develop cost plans for civil engineering projects.
• Liaise with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors to obtain quotations.
• Compile and submit tenders in line with client requirements.
• Conducted quantity take-offs from tender drawings and prepared quantity bills.
• Maintain and develop cost databases for accurate project pricing.
• Ensure compliance with company procedures, contract administration systems, and industry regulations.
• Track project performance, costs, and job progress to support precise invoicing.
• Work closely with the operations team to ensure effective project delivery.
• Maintain document logs, registers, and tender records.
• Utilise Excel, Word, Project, Constructa, and Cost X software.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Strong estimating experience in civil engineering or construction
• Knowledge of civil engineering contracts and regulations
• Excellent numerical and analytical skills
• Strong communication and negotiation abilities
• Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Project) and estimating
• software
• Understanding of health and safety regulations
