Activus Recruitment seeks a skilled and experienced Fleet Mechanic to join our client's expanding team in Cove, Aberdeen. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a growing organisation while working in a dynamic and supportive environment.

Job Purpose

The Fleet Mechanic will safely and efficiently service, repair, and maintain HGVs, LGVs, trailers, and associated equipment within workshop settings and off-site environments.

Key Responsibilities

Maintenance and Repairs

  • Conduct safe and efficient servicing, diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on HGVs, LGVs, trailers, and powder tankers.
  • Perform tasks in both workshop and off-site locations as needed.

Safety and Compliance

    • Adhere to risk assessments, COSHH requirements, method statements, and permits to work.
    • Ensure all tools and equipment are inspected, fit for purpose, and certified as necessary.

    Equipment Checks

      • Complete daily checks on plant and equipment such as forklifts, MEWPs, lifting ramps, and accessories.
      • Report any defects or issues to the Site Manager or Fleet Manager.

      Workplace Organisation

        • Maintain tidy and safe workshop, store, and off-site environments.
        • Dispose of waste by company procedures.

        Documentation

          • Accurately complete and submit job sheets, inspection reports, timesheets, and other departmental documentation.

          Training and Representation

            • Attend meetings and training sessions as directed by management.
            • Provide training and guidance to colleagues when required.
            • Represent the company professionally and courteously to customers, visitors, and staff.

            Additional Information

            • The tasks outlined above are not exhaustive; other duties within the scope of the role may be required.
            • Employees must ensure the health, safety, and welfare of themselves and others.
            • This role may require travel to other locations as directed.

            What Were Looking For

            • Proven experience maintaining and repairing HGVs, LGVs, trailers, and associated equipment.
            • Strong understanding of safety protocols and compliance requirements.
            • Good organizational skills and the ability to manage documentation efficiently.
            • A proactive approach to maintaining workplace tidiness and safety.
