About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and analytical Pricing Strategy Analyst to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of pricing strategies, e-commerce and data analysis. This role will be instrumental in monitoring competitor pricing as well as developing and implementing effective pricing strategies that drive revenue and profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Skillfully monitor and assess a vast array of hardware products across the manufacturing, distribution, and retail sectors offered by the company
  • Conduct secondary market research to understand pricing trends, competitor pricing, and consumer behavior across marketplaces to inform pricing strategies. Leverage existing data and insights from industry reports and related publications
  • Use Google Analytics to track user behavior, analyses traffic sources, and evaluate the impact of pricing changes on sales performance and conversion rates
  • Analyze sales data, cost structures, and pricing models to identify opportunities for pricing optimization and profitability improvement
  • Analyze sales data to identify high-performing products and develop strategies to enhance their market presence while also pinpointing underperforming products and implementing targeted initiatives to improve their sales performance
  • Continuously monitor pricing effectiveness and market changes, making adjustments as necessary and regularly assess competitor pricing strategies and market dynamics to maintain a competitive edge
  • Assist in demand forecasting by analyzing historical sales data and market trends to predict future pricing and sales performance
  • Prepare detailed reports and presentations on pricing performance, market trends, and recommendations for management and stakeholders

Qualifications:

  • MBA in Finance, Marketing, Operations, Analytics, or Masters degree in Economics, Mathematics, or related fields
  • 1-3 / 2-5 years of experience in pricing analysis, business intelligence, market research or a related field, preferably within e-commerce or manufacturing industries (preferably construction and building materials or home improvement products)
  • Proven record of experience with Google Analytics, including relevant certifications, demonstrating the ability to effectively analyze web traffic and user behavior

Desired Skills:

  • Understanding of dynamic pricing strategies, including the ability to analyze market conditions and adjust prices based on demand and competition
  • Proficiency in Excel, data analysis software (e.g., SQL, R, Python), and pricing software or tools
  • Experience with business intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is a plus
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data sets and derive actionable insights
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of work
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present findings clearly to various stakeholders
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

  • Existing knowledge of market research firms/industry report providers such as Nielson, as well as data platforms such as Amazon Product Advertising API or eBay API
