As a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), your job responsibilities may include:
- Patient Care: Providing direct care and assistance to patients under the supervision of registered nurses (RNs) or licensed practical nurses (LPNs). This includes tasks such as bathing, dressing, feeding, and assisting with mobility.
- Vital Signs Monitoring: Taking and recording patients' vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse rate, and respiration rate.
- Patient Observations: Monitoring patients for changes in condition and reporting any concerns or abnormalities to the nursing staff.
- Assisting with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs): Helping patients with tasks they may struggle with, such as eating, grooming, toileting, and transferring.
- Mobility Assistance: Assisting patients with mobility and transferring techniques, including using assistive devices such as walkers or wheelchairs.
- Record Keeping: Maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records, including documenting care provided, observations made, and any changes in patient condition.
- Supportive Care: Providing emotional support and companionship to patients, ensuring their comfort and well-being.
- Infection Control: Following proper infection control protocols, including hand hygiene, use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and maintaining a clean and safe environment.
- Collaboration: Collaborating with the healthcare team, including nurses, doctors, and other healthcare professionals, to ensure coordinated and efficient patient care.
- Communication: Effectively communicating with patients, their families, and the healthcare team to provide updates, gather information, and address any concerns or questions.
