Position: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

Location: Lawton, OK

Unit: 36 Bed Medical Surgical Floor (Possibility of Floating to Other Units as Necessary)

Job Summary:

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) will be based in Lawton, OK and will primarily work on a 36-bed Medical Surgical Floor. However, there may be a need to float to other units as necessary. The LPN will play a crucial role in providing direct patient care and assisting in the coordination of healthcare services for patients in the medical surgical unit.

Job Responsibilities:

Provide direct patient care under the supervision of registered nurses and physicians.

Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers.

Monitor and record patient vital signs, symptoms, and treatment progress.

Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement patient care plans.

Assist in the coordination of patient admissions, transfers, and discharges.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation.

Ensure compliance with established protocols, policies, and procedures.

Respond to patient inquiries, concerns, and emergencies in a timely and appropriate manner.

Maintain a clean and safe patient care environment.

Participate in ongoing educational programs and professional development activities.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: Completion of an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) program.

Licensure: Valid LPN license in the state of Oklahoma.

Experience: Previous experience in a medical surgical or similar healthcare setting is preferred but not required.

Skills: Proficient in performing nursing procedures, administering medications, and documenting patient information accurately. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment. Basic computer skills for documentation and record-keeping purposes.

Physical Requirements: Ability to lift, push, and pull heavy objects. Standing, walking, and bending for extended periods. Good manual dexterity and visual acuity.
