Ability Advocates, in collaboration with Inner West Council is thrilled to offer an innovative 12-month trainee program designed to help people with disabilities thrive in the workplace, and to foster inclusive workplaces.

With quarterly intakes and paid traineeships and wrap around supports for both the trainee and Inner West Council including specialised team of allied health professionals, recruitment, employment and disability specialists traineeships are designed to have a positive outcome for the applicants and Inner West Council.

An opportunity exists for an eager trainee to join the team in the Accounts Payable Department where you will be able to work with highly diverse teams where you will be contributing to making a real difference while rapidly building your skills.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Data entry ensuring compliance with the Inner West Council specific legislations, policies and procedures
  • Contribute to specific projects in the accounts team
  • Supporting the team with transactional enquiries
  • Processing of invoices, credit notes and statements of debt recovery

What we are looking for:

  • A Passionate Trainee who is eager to learn.
  • Administration skills including knowledge of Accounting.
  • Professional and respectful.
  • Able to represent Inner West Council in a professional manner when dealing with colleagues and customers.
  • Ability to learn and understand processes and procedures required in the Accounting team.
  • Good computer literacy, excel knowledge desired.

You will be liaising with internal and external clients including teams in ICT, Procurement, Waste Management, Debtors and Creditors.
