Ability Advocates, in collaboration with Inner West Council is thrilled to offer an innovative 12-month trainee program designed to help people with disabilities thrive in the workplace, and to foster inclusive workplaces.

With quarterly intakes and paid traineeships and wrap around supports for both the trainee and Inner West Council including specialised team of allied health professionals, recruitment, employment and disability specialists traineeships are designed to have a positive outcome for the applicants and Inner West Council.

We are calling a passionate trainee who enjoys working with children and their families to join the Early Learning team where you will be able to work with other educators and parents contributing to making a real difference to the childrens learning journey while rapidly building your skills.

We invite you to apply for this exciting opportunity if you are:

  • Currently studying or willing to study in the Children's Services area
  • Passionate about caring for children and pursuing a career in childcare;
  • A team player, professional and organised
  • Passionate about working with children and their families
  • Have good communication skills
  • Willing to obtain a first aid certificate
  • Willing to obtain a Working with Children Check
  • Willing to obtain specific checks required by the Centre
  • General administration and assisting the team where required.

What we are looking for:

  • Individuals with passion, experience or knowledge in the field.
  • Individuals that have a genuine interest in the educational sector.
  • Ability to show importance of excellent customer service through communication and service provision.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.

This trainee role is preferentially recruited for individuals with long term disabilities or activity limitations. Disabilities can vary widely, from vision and hearing impairments to conditions affecting mental health, mobility, dexterity, and learning capacity. For eligibility, the disability must be long-term and likely to last more than 12 months.
