Financial Controller

Position Summary:

The Financial Controller will play a critical role in overseeing the financial operations of a EXIM SAAS company in Mumbai

SaaS business. This position is responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with accounting principles, and providing strategic insights to support business decisions. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in financial management within a SaaS environment, strong analytical skills, and a proven track record of working in high growth, dynamic settings.

Key Responsibilities:

• Financial Reporting and Analysis: Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial.

• Perform detailed financial analysis, including variance analysis, profitability analysis, and cash flow forecasting.

• Monitor key financial metrics relevant to the SaaS business model, such as ARR (Annual Recurring Revenue), MRR (Monthly Recurring Revenue), and customer acquisition costs.

• Budgeting and Forecasting: Develop and manage annual budgets and financial forecasts.

• Collaborate with departmental leaders to ensure budget alignment with company goals and track performance against budgets.

• Financial Operations: Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records, including revenue recognition, accounts payable, and accounts receivable. 

• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including reconciliations and adjustments.

• Compliance and Controls: Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal controls.

• Conduct regular reviews of financial processes and controls to identify and mitigate risks.

• Strategic Planning: Provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic initiatives and business growth.

• Collaborate with executive leadership on financial planning and analysis, including potential mergers, acquisitions, or investments.

• Team Management: Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a collaborative and high- performance environment.

• Oversee recruitment, training, and development of finance staff.

• Systems and Processes: Evaluate and implement financial systems and tools to improve efficiency and accuracy.

• Manage financial system integrations and upgrades as needed.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field; CA or MBA in Finance certification preferred.

• Minimum of 10-12 years of experience in financial management, with a focus on SaaS or technology companies.

• Strong knowledge of SaaS financial metrics and revenue recognition principles.

• Proven experience in financial planning, analysis, and reporting.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to provide actionable insights.

• Proficiency in accounting software and financial management systems (e.g., Zoho, SAP, Tally etc.).

• Strong leadership and team management skills.

• Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
