Job Purpose:
To oversee and manage the national warehouse and logistics operations, ensuring efficient storage, distribution, and transportation of goods. The National Warehouse & Logistics Manager is responsible for optimizing supply chain processes, reducing costs, improving operational efficiency, and ensuring timely delivery while complying with safety and regulatory standards.
Responsibilities & Duties:
- Develop and implement national warehouse strategies to optimize storage capacity and inventory accuracy.
- Ensure efficient warehouse operations, including receiving, storing, picking, packing, and dispatching of goods.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and implement inventory control measures to minimize shrinkage and obsolescence.
- Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) to enhance operational efficiency and tracking.
- Oversee national transportation and distribution networks to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of goods.
- Optimize logistics routes, transportation methods, and vendor partnerships to reduce costs and improve service levels.
- Manage relationships with third-party logistics providers (3PL) to ensure contract compliance and performance.
- Monitor and analyze key logistics KPIs, including delivery accuracy, transit time, and freight costs.
- Develop and manage the warehouse and logistics budget, ensuring cost control and operational efficiency.
- Identify process improvement opportunities to enhance efficiency and reduce expenses.
- Implement best practices in warehousing, logistics, and supply chain management.
- Ensure compliance with local and international regulations related to warehousing, transportation, and logistics.
- Enforce safety and security standards across all warehouse and logistics operations.
- Develop risk mitigation strategies to address supply chain disruptions and warehouse-related hazards.
- Lead and mentor warehouse, logistics, and distribution teams across multiple locations.
- Provide training programs to enhance staff skills and promote continuous improvement.
- Foster a culture of safety, teamwork, and high performance.
- Prepare and present reports on warehouse and logistics performance, including cost analysis, inventory turnover, and delivery performance.
- Conduct regular audits of warehouse and logistics operations to ensure efficiency and compliance.
- Use data-driven insights to enhance decision-making and operational planning.
Education:
Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field. A Masters degree (MBA) is preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in warehouse and logistics management.
- At least 3-5 years in a senior leadership role managing national warehouse and distribution operations.
Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of warehouse management, logistics operations, and supply chain optimization.
- Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in WMS, ERP systems, and logistics software.
- Strong negotiation and vendor management abilities.
- Ability to analyze and interpret logistics data to drive performance improvements.
- Knowledge of safety regulations, compliance, and best practices in warehouse and logistics operations.
